Our ADHD assessments gather information from multiple sources.
We will first ask you to complete a series of pre-assessment questionnaires before conducting a comprehensive diagnostic interview. This appointment will be between you and an experienced psychiatrist and will determine the presence of core symptoms of ADHD.
Before your assessment, you'll receive several questionnaires. One should be completed by a parent or someone who knew you well during childhood. Ideally, they will also attend a part of your assessment, but we have options for if this isn’t possible.
Your pre-assessment questionnaires and your diagnostic interview will ask questions to establish whether ADHD was present when you were younger and how much it impacted you. Information about your childhood, and the potential presence of ADHD at an early age, is essential for us to provide a diagnosis.
Your diagnostic interview will last up to 120 minutes. However, before this, six questionnaires need to be completed.
Our assessments are all conducted by consultant psychiatrists with many years of experience assessing and diagnosing ADHD.
This depends entirely on your needs as assessed by our clinicians. If your clinician does recommend medication, you can access that through our service.
No, you don't need a referral to take an ADHD assessment. When you call, we will run through a series of questions to ensure that an ADHD assessment is the right choice for you but the option to get assessed for ADHD will be yours.
Yes, we provide both options, subject to availability. We have various clinics for face-to-face appointments around the UK.
Our handpicked clinicians understand the importance of diagnosis thanks to their years of clinical experience. Their empathy and warmth is best communicated through their own words:
For many people, a diagnosis as an adult is a sign of recognition, helping them understand their feelings, moods, and behaviours. Once diagnosed, we can introduce various techniques to manage challenges, which is why an assessment is so important.
One of our trained assistant psychologists will call you back, for free.
